टाटा स्काई लेकर आ रही है ऐसी तकनीक जिससे टीवी पर सीधा प्रसारण देखते वक्त आप टीवी पर चले रहे कार्यक्रम को रोक सकते हैं, पीछे ले जा सकते हैं या आगे बढ़ सकते हैं।

भारत में ऐसी सेवा देने वाली टाटा स्काई पहली डीटीएच ऑपरेटर है। लेकिन इस नए सेट टॉप बॉक्स की कीमत 9,000 रुपए होगी और 1,000 रुपए इसे लगाने के लिए भी देने होंगे।

टाटा स्काई का रिलायंस के बिग टीवी और एयरटेल के डीटीएच से कड़ा मुकाबला है। खबर है कि दिवाली से पहले डिश टीवी और रिलायंस बिग टीवी दोनों भी ऐसी ही सेवा ला रहे हैं। बिग टीवी का सेट टॉप बॉक्स 6,500-7,000 रुपए और डिश का 10,000 रुपए का होगा।

शायद यही वजह है कि टाटा स्काई पुराने ग्राहकों के लिए ऐसा प्रावधान लाने वाली है जिससे वे भी इस नई सुविधा का लाभ ले सकें। लेकिन, फिलहाल इसका कोई ब्यौरा  नहीं दिया गया है।

यह है जापान की नैनो यानी टोयोटा की नई ‘आईक्यू’ कार। छोटे आकार की ‘आईक्यू’ ‘सी’ श्रेणी की इस कार में तीन लोगों के साथ एक बच्चा या फिर कुछ सामान आराम से रखे जा सकते हैं। ‘आईक्यू’को दो अक्टूबर के दिन फ्रांस के ‘पेरिस ऑटो शो’ में प्रदर्शित किया गया था। इस कार में केवल दो दरवाजे हैं। इसकी कीमत है लगभग छह लाख 70 हजार रुपए।

Internet search giant Google has finally made its much-rumoured entry in the browser space. After the latest releases by Mozilla (Firefox 3) and Microsoft (IE 8 beta 2), here comes Google browser Chrome.

Designed to better handle video-rich or other complex Web programmes, Chrome poses a tough challenge to browsers designed originally to handle text and graphics. Google calls the move "a fresh take on the browser" and said that it will be introducing a public trial for Microsoft Corp Windows users starting September 2.

September 25, 2008 (Computerworld) Neosploit, the notorious hacker exploit kit that some thought had been retired months ago, has not only returned from the dead, but is responsible for a dramatic increase in attacks, a security researcher claimed today.

"Neosploit's back," said Ian Amit, director of security research at Aladdin Knowledge Systems Inc.

The accounts of its demise last summer had been a ruse, he argued. "When you're feeling that kind of heat," Amit said, referring to the attention Neosploit had received from both researchers and authorities, "you want to shake those guys off your back. [The talk about quitting] only helped them go under the radar."

Performance and Reliability Update for Vista SP1

A reliability and performance update is available for download for Windows Vista Service Pack 1. This specific release targets all Windows Vista editions, provided that they have the first service pack integrated. The update comes with the promise of improving the performance and reliability of the gold version of Vista SP1, and is not addressed at the RTM SKUs of the latest Windows client. Two updates are up for grabs for both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Vista SP1. "This update resolves issues that may affect some Windows Vista SP1-based computers. These issues have been reported by customers who use the Error Reporting service or Microsoft Customer Support Services," Microsoft informed.
